This Week's NEMCO Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado at the Texas Motor Speedway ... John Hunter Nemechek will pilot Chassis No. 037 in the Striping Technology 350 at the Texas Motor Speedway. The Gere Kennon-led team last unloaded this NEMCO Motorsports prepared chassis at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 1 where Nemechek finished in the 16th-position after starting in the 15th-position in the chassis’ second appearance of the 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season. Earlier in the season, Chassis No. 037 was driven into victory lane at the Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway. This chassis made its maiden voyage on-track at the Kansas Speedway in May 2015.

 

"Deep in the Heart of Texas" ... This weekend marks John Hunter Nemechek’s third Texas Motor Speedway appearance with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The Mooresville, N.C., driver has earned an average starting position of 17.5 and an average finishing position of 9.0 at the 1.5-mile track. Nemechek made his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series track debut on November 6, 2015.

 

Speedway Stats: In 24 combined NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts on speedways (tracks 1 to 2-miles in length), John Hunter Nemechek has recorded two victories (Chicago and Atlanta), nine top-five and 14 top-10 finishes. He has led for a total of 89 laps on NASCAR’s speedway tracks.

 

Race Rewind: Texas Motor Speedway … John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 Fire Alarm Services, Inc., Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, qualified in the 23rd-postion in the 250.5-mile NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on June 10, 2015 at the Texas Motor Speedway, running as high as fifth, but he eventually finished in seventh-place. The finish was Nemechek’s third top-10 finish of the 2016 season, and a career-best finish at the Texas Motor Speedway.

 

In the Rearview Mirror: Martinsville (Va.) Speedway ... John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 Fire Alarm Services, Inc., Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, finished in the third-position in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Texas Roadhouse 200 presented by Alpha Energy Solutions at the Martinsville Speedway on Saturday, October 29. Nemechek travelled to the .526-mile paperclip-shaped Martinsville oval with two previous consecutive second-place finishes at the Ridgeway, Va., facility. Nemechek started the 200-lap event from the 12th-place and wasted no time in his bid for the lead, racing into the top-ten by Lap 70 and taking over the top spot on Lap 158. He led the next 18 circuits around the track before the caution on Lap 177, and Nemechek restarted in the second-place before crossing the finish line in the third-place.

 

Season-to-date … Through the first 20 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races of the 2016 season, John Hunter Nemechek has completed 2837 of 3008 laps contested (94.3 percent), has led 99 laps and is currently eighth in the driver point standings. In addition, the NEMCO Motorsports driver has collected two victories (Atlanta, Canada), has one pole award (Iowa), has five top-five and ten top-10 finishes, has spent 2,179 laps running in the top 15 and has made 748 green-flag passes thus far this season.

This Week's NEMCO Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado at the Martinsville Speedway ... John Hunter Nemechek will pilot Chassis No. 034 in the Texas Roadhouse 200 presented by Alpha Energy Solutions at the Martinsville Speedway. The Gere Kennon-led team last unloaded this NEMCO Motorsports prepared chassis at the Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway on August 17 where Nemechek finished in the eighth-position after starting in the 16th-position in the chassis’ third appearance of the 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season. Since 2014, Chassis No. 034 has four top-five finishes in 11 starts.

 

Paperclip Review ... This weekend marks John Hunter Nemechek’s seventh Martinsville Speedway appearance with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The Mooresville, N.C., driver has earned an average starting position of 15.2 and an average finishing position of 12.2 at the .526-mile track. In addition, Nemechek made his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut on October 26, 2013 at the Virginia short track behind the wheel of the No. 22 family-owned machine.

Short Track Stats: In 12 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts on short tracks (less than one mile in length), John Hunter Nemechek has recorded three top-five and six top-10 finishes, with an average starting spot of 12.0 and an average finish of 11.2 on these racetracks.

 

Race Rewind: Martinsville Speedway … In overtime, John Hunter Nemechek finished second in the Alpha Energy Solutions 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at the Martinsville Speedway on April 2. Nemechek, who qualified in the eighth place, finished the two-lap dash to the checkered flag .425 seconds behind the leader. This strong finish helped Nemechek take over the series points lead. It was Nemechek's second straight runner-up finish at the Martinsville Speedway.

 

In the Rearview Mirror: Talladega Superspeedway ... John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 Fire Alarm Services, Inc., Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, finished in the 32nd-position in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Fred's 250 Powered by Coca-Cola at the Talladega Superspeedway on Saturday, October 22. In a season of high achievement muted by misfortune, the latest twist eliminated the NEMCO Motorsports driver from championship contention with an engine part failure in the No. 8 Fire Alarm Services, Inc., Chevrolet on Lap 13 of a scheduled 94-lap event that sent Nemechek to the garage and out of the Chase.

 

Season-to-date … Through the first 19 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races of the 2016 season, John Hunter Nemechek has completed 2637 of 2808 laps contested (93.9 percent), has led 81 laps and is currently eighth in the driver point standings. The Gere Kennon-led team unloaded this chassis at the Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway on February 19 finishing in the 17th-position. Since 2014, Chassis No. 062 has an average finish of 13.2 in five starts.

Nemechek in “Sweet Home Alabama” ... This weekend marks John Hunter Nemechek’s second Talladega Superspeedway appearance with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The Mooresville, N.C., driver has earned an average starting position of 14.0 and an average finishing position of 11.0 at the track. Nemechek made his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series track debut on October 24, 2015.

Restrictor Plate Stats: In two combined NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts on the superspeedways of Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway, Nemechek has an average starting position of 14.5 and an average finishing position of 14.0.

Race Rewind: Talladega Superspeedway … John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 CHEK Industries, Inc., Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, finished in the 11th-position in the Fred's 250 on October 24, 2015. Nemechek started the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event in the 14th-position and was scored in the 25th-position by Lap 10. On Lap 13 Nemechek was involved in a single-truck incident on the frontstretch to bring out the first caution of the 98-lap event. He was able to battle back from a lap down to the 16th-position by Lap 60. In the closing laps, Nemechek was scored as high as seventh-place on Lap 80 as green-flag stops began, and finished in the 11th-place in a green-white-checkered flag finish.

In the Rearview Mirror: Las Vegas Motor Speedway ... John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 Fire Alarm Services, Inc., Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, finished in the 16th-position in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series DC Solar 350 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday, October 1. Nemechek began the 146-lap race around the 1.5-mile track from the 15th-position in the 31-truck field. Nemechek had climbed up to the 13th- position while battling ill-handling conditions, on Lap 50, before ultimately finishing in the 16th-place.

Chase for the Championship … With two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Chase events complete, John Hunter Nemechek is eighth in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Chase standings with 2037 points and tied with Daniel Hemric in points. Nemechek is 15 points behind Johnny Sauter in the sixth place.

The Gere Kennon-led team last unloaded this NEMCO Motorsports prepared chassis at the Gateway Motorsports Park on June 25, finishing in the sixth-position after starting in the fourth-position. In addition, at the Iowa Speedway on June 18, Chassis No. 42 qualified on the pole. This chassis made its maiden voyage on-track at the Gateway Motorsports Park in 2015.

Magic Mile ... This weekend marks John Hunter Nemechek’s third New Hampshire Motor Speedway appearance with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The Mooresville, N.C., driver has earned an average starting position of 11.0 and an average finishing position of 5.0 at the track.

Race Rewind: New Hampshire Motor Speedway … John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, did his best to master the 1.058-mile oval and finished in the fifth-position in the UNOH 175 on September 26, 2015. Nemechek started the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event in the 12th- position and methodically progressed to the sixth-position by Lap 40. Consistently competitive laps continued until Lap 120 as Nemechek was scored in the 12th-place, and he was able to battle back to sixth-place by Lap 170 to eventually finish in the fifth-position.

In the Rearview Mirror: Chicagoland Speedway ... John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 #TeamTurtle / #TeamFoot Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, finished in the 14th- position in the American Ethanol e15 225 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at the Chicagoland (Ill.) Speedway last week on September 16. Nemechek began the 151-lap race around the 1.5-mile tri-oval from the 18th-position in the 32-truck field. By Lap 20 the Mooresville, N.C., had climbed to the ninth position while also battling tight-handling conditions. Over the course of three pit stops the changes worked to Nemechek’s favor, but they weren’t quite enough to allow him to leverage the Chevrolet’s horsepower in the final laps.

Earlier this season, on May 6, 2016, this NEMCO Motorsports-prepared chassis qualified sixth and finished in the 28th-position at the Kansas Speedway.

Race Rewind: Chicagoland Speedway … John Hunter Nemechek, earned his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory as he overcame plenty of adversity last year at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill., after starting 11th in the rain-delayed American Ethanol e15 225. The second-generation NASCAR driver stretched his last tank of fuel to the limit, running out of gas in Turn 4 and crossing the finish line 12.015 seconds over second place. Nemechek led two laps en route to win in his 23rd NASCAR Camping World Truck Series career start.

In the Rearview Mirror: Canadian Tire Motorsport Park ... Driving the No. 8 Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, John Hunter Nemechek battled on the last lap of the Chevrolet Silverado 250 to score his third career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory, his first at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. This was also Nemechek’s first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win on a road course. Nemechek was fast throughout the race weekend, posting top-five lap times in both practices on Saturday, September 3 at the 2.459-mile road course, and then qualifying 13th with a posted speed of 110.205 mph.

Ninja Turtle Scheme for Nemechek at Chicagoland

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 400 AT CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY

  • Nickelodeon and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are taking over the Chicagoland Speedway NASCAR race weekend.  Nickelodeon is the entitlement sponsor of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ race on Sunday, Sept. 18, dubbed the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 400.   The track will feature a weekend of action, activities and fun for the entire family with the iconic Heroes in a Half Shell.
  • Greg Cipes, the actor who voices Michelangelo in Nickelodeon’s television hit Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, will serve as honorary starter for the NASCAR Sprint Cup race.   The 36-year-old actor has been the voice of the famed Turtle on Nickelodeon since 2012.  Cipes will be in the Chicagoland Speedway media center on Friday, Sept. 16 at 10 a.m. CDT to speak with the media and unveil the trophy for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 400.
  • Actor Brian Tee who played Shredder in the movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows will be a pre-race dignitary at Sunday’s Sprint Cup race.  Tee is known for his role as D.K. the Drift King in the action film The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and as Dr. Ethan Choi on the NBC medical drama Chicago Med.
  • Chicago artist Hebru Brantley is bringing his unique style to speedway for the weekend.  He designed the Turtle-themed trophy for the winner of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle 400. He also has created a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mural for fans, and his graphic style will be on display throughout the speedway. Brantley breaks down the walls of cultural boundaries through his art and inspired by his 1980s Chicago upbringing.  His work touches on tough subjects in a way that may be easily digestible to the viewer, by telling his stories through youthful characters and their adventures. Brantley’s work can be described as pop infused contemporary art inspired by Japanese anime and the bold aesthetics of street art pioneers Jean Michel Basquiat, KAWS and Keith Haring.
  • The 1.5-mile track will serve as the site of an epic battle between #TeamTurtle and #TeamFoot over the three-day race weekend.  Nickelodeon has previously announced partnerships with several drivers and race teams that will carry special Turtle-themed paint schemes in each of the three national series events.

Race Rewind: Canadian Tire Motorsport Park … John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 SWM-NEMCO Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, finished in ninth-place in the Chevrolet Silverado 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on August 30, 2015 at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada. Nemechek qualified in the 12th-postion for the 64-lap event. He was scored as high as sixth-place on Lap 30, and ultimately crossed the finish line in the ninth-place.

In the Rearview Mirror: Michigan International Speedway ... John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 Business Machines Company (BMC) / Melling Performance Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, finished in the 26th-place in the Careers For Veterans 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at the Michigan International Speedway on Saturday, August 27 after a late-race accident eliminated him from contention. Nemechek started in the 16th-postion, and by Lap 10 he was scored in the seventh-place. The 19 year-old patiently logged laps until Lap 61, when a competitor made contact with Nemechek’s No. 8 Chevrolet Silverado, forcing it toward the wall and resulting in a blown tire. On Lap 63 Nemechek came to pit road going directly to the garage, but the damage ultimately ended Nemechek’s day.

Season-to-date … Through the first 14 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races of the 2016 season, John Hunter Nemechek has completed 2087 of 2176 laps contested (95.9 percent), has led 61 laps and is currently eighth in the driver point standings. In addition, the NEMCO Motorsports driver has collected one victory (Atlanta), one pole award (Iowa), has three top-five and seven top-10 finishes, has spent 1,601 laps running in the top 15 and has made 567 green-flag passes thus far this season.

John Hunter Nemechek will pilot Chassis No. 041 in the Careers for Veterans 200 presented by Cooper Standard and Brad Keselowski's Checkered Flag Foundation at the Michigan International Speedway. The Gere Kennon-led team last unloaded this NEMCO Motorsports prepared chassis at the Pocono (Pa.) Raceway on July 30 where they finished in the ninth-position after starting in the second-position in the chassis’ fourth appearance of the 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season. In the chassis’ four starts (Charlotte Motor Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway, Kentucky Speedway and Pocono Raceway) with John Hunter Nemechek, it has an average finishing position of 7.5.

 

Local Connection … The NEMCO Motorsports No. 8 Chevrolet Silverado will carry the Business Machines Company, Inc. (BMC) brand as the primary sponsor on Saturday, August 27 at the Michigan International Speedway. Race Rewind: Michigan International Speedway … John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 SWM-NEMCO Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, finished 12th-place in the Careers for Veterans 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn. An ill-handling Silverado and a pit road penalty on Lap 30 for an uncontrolled tire forced him toward the back of the lead lap trucks, where heavy traffic created obstacles for Nemechek’s debut at the track.

 

In the Rearview Mirror: Bristol Motor Speedway ... John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, finished eighth in the UNOH 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at the Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway on August 17, 2016. Nemechek started in the 16th-postion for the UNOH 200, and by Lap 50 he was scored in the 20th-place. The 19 year-old maneuvered to the third position with less than 30 laps remaining in the 200-lap event. With no radio communication to his spotter on the final restart on Lap 194, Nemechek was shuffled back and ultimately finished in the eighth-place.

This Week's NEMCO Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado at the Pocono Raceway ... John Hunter Nemechek will pilot Chassis No. 041 in the Pocono Mountains 150 at the Pocono Raceway. The Gere Kennon-led team last unloaded this NEMCO Motorsports prepared chassis at the Kentucky Speedway on July 7  where they finished in the second-position after starting in the 16th-postion in the chassis’ third debut of the 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season. Other starts with Chassis No. 041 include: Texas Motor Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway.

 

It's Tricky, it's Tricky ... This weekend marks John Hunter Nemechek’s second Pocono Raceway appearance with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The Mooresville, N.C., driver has earned an average starting position of 9.0 and an average finishing position of 13.00 at the Long Pond, Pa., facility.

 

Race Rewind: Pocono Raceway … Pocono Raceway, known as the “Tricky Triangle,” lived up to its reputation for John Hunter Nemechek’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series track debut. A 13th-place finish masked the actual performance of Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 D.A.B. Constructors Inc. Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports. He contended as high as sixth, but a pit road penalty on Lap 31 upset his effort. Nemechek was scored in the 17th-position on Lap 40, and raced into the 14th-position before untimely crossing the finish line in the 13th-place.

 

In the Rearview Mirror: Eldora Speedway ... John Hunter Nemechek and his No. 8 Berry's Manufacturing Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports battled back from early adversity slinging mud in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at the Eldora Speedway. Nemechek was collected in an early-race accident on Lap 39, and eventually fell 21 laps down in the 150-lap race, but he fought back to finish in the 24th-postion.

 

Season-to-date … Through the first 11 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races of the 2016 season, John Hunter Nemechek has completed 1765 of 1816 laps contested (97.2 percent), has led 61 laps and is currently eighth in the driver point standings.
