This Week’s NEMCO Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway … John Hunter Nemechek will pilot Chassis No. 037 in the DC Solar 350 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Gere Kennon-led team last unloaded this NEMCO Motorsports prepared chassis at the Atlanta Motor Speedway on February 27, finishing in the first-place after starting in the 18th-position. This chassis made its maiden voyage on-track at the Kansas Speedway in May 2015. Chassis No.037 has an average finish of 6.5 after four starts.
Nemechek in “Sin City” … This weekend marks John Hunter Nemechek’s second Las Vegas Motor Speedway appearance with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The Mooresville, N.C., driver has earned an average starting position of 16.0 and an average finishing position of 4.0 at the track.
Speedway Stats: In 23 combined NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts on speedways (tracks 1 to 2-miles in length), John Hunter Nemechek has recorded two victories (Chicago and Atlanta), nine top-five and 14 top-10 finishes. He has led for a total of 89 laps on NASCAR’s speedway tracks.
Race Rewind: Las Vegas Motor Speedway … John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 Berry’s Manufacturing Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, finished in the fourth-position in the Rhino Lining 350 on October 3, 2015. Nemechek started the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event in the 16th-position and progressed methodically to the third-position by Lap 40. Nemechek lost positions on pit road, and was scored in 23rd-place on Lap 50, but was able to battle back to the top-10 by Lap 100. In the closing laps, Nemechek gained six positions to finish in the fourth-place.
In the Rearview Mirror: New Hampshire Motor Speedway … John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 Fire Alarm Services, Inc., Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, finished in the ninth-position in the UNOH 175 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway on September 24. Nemechek began the 175-lap race around the 1.058-mile track from the 15th-position in the 32-truck field. On Lap 53 the Mooresville, N.C., was involved in a single truck incident in Turn 2. Nemechek had climbed to the ninth position while battling ill-handling conditions, on Lap 120. He ran as high as eighth in the running order before ultimately finishing in the ninth-place.
Chase for the Championship … With one NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Chase event complete, John Hunter Nemechek is seventh in the “Chase” standings, 5 points behind Ben Kennedy in the sixth place.
Season-to-date … Through the first 17 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races of the 2016 season, John Hunter Nemechek has completed 2479 of 2568 laps contested (96.5 percent), has led 81 laps and is currently seventh in the driver point standings. In addition, the NEMCO Motorsports driver has collected two victories (Atlanta, Canada), one pole award (Iowa), has four top-five and nine top-10 finishes, has spent 1,918 laps running in the top 15 and has made 673 green-flag passes thus far this season.
