- Nemechek's sixth-place finish at Talladega Superspeedway was his and the GMS Racing Xfinity team’s seventh top-10 this season.
- Nemechek is currently scored in sixth-place in the driver standings and is tied with Chase Briscoe, both drivers are three points away from Justin Allgaier in the fifth-position.
- In the Owners points standings, GMS Racing is currently seventh with 295 points but is in a tie with Biagi-DenBeste Racing, both are three points behind Jr Motorsports entry in sixth-place.

“It was a up-and-down day for sure. We had to go to the back of the field twice, once because we had a tire going flat on the starting grid and had to change the tire and then the next time because Brandon (Brown, No. 86 driver) locked onto our bumper. I wish we could have gotten some more stage points but it still was a solid points day for this 23 team. The car is still in one piece so we will take it back to the shop and build on what we learned this weekend for the next plate race at Daytona in July.”

“I am really excited about getting back to Talladega this weekend. GMS Racing's super speedway program is really strong in both the Truck series and the Xfinity Series. The team collected their first Xfinity win at Talladega with Spencer (Gallagher) so hopefully we can get back to back wins and get Maury (Gallagher, owner of GMS Racing) back in victory lane and get locked into the playoffs."

"We just over adjusted thinking the rain was going to come on that last restart to finish off the second Stage but it didn't so when we went back racing it wasn't good for us. The car got evil and I couldn't go anywhere and we dropped back to the 19th-position. I'm sorry to the 52, I got loose underneath of him off of Turn 4 and accidentally got into the back of him. So a huge shout out to those guys, they always give us respect when we race them. We ended up coming back after making some better adjustments and came home seventh with a really good points day."

- U.S. Paralympians from the National Wheelchair Basketball Association, including Will Waller, Trevon Jenifer and Steve Serio will take laps around Richmond Raceway on Wednesday, April 10beginning at 9 a.m.

Quotes:
“I am really looking forward to going back to Richmond this weekend for my second Xfinity start at the short-track. Last year I had a strong car and led 36 laps before we lost the break pedal. Richmond, I feel like, falls into one of my stronger tracks on the NASCAR circuit and hopefully coming off the top-five finish at Bristol we can follow that up with another strong run. Having FALCI (Adaptive Motorsports) on the car this weekend is great. What Dr. Scott Falci and Joe Garone are doing for the mobility-challenged community is really special and to be able to raise awareness in the NASCAR community for their operation is a great honor.”

“We had a pretty good No. 23 Chevrolet this weekend at Bristol. I wish we could have qualified for the Dash4Cash for Richmond but we came up a little short. Overall the weekend was solid. We showed speed in practice on Friday and had a decent qualifying attempt on Saturday. Towards the end of the race I was battling with a tight-handling Allegiant Chevy but it was manageable. I appreciate Chad (Norris, crew chief) and all of the GMS boy’s hard work to supply me with a car that can be in contention to win. I’m looking forward to Richmond next weekend.”

Quotes:
“I feel really good about Bristol this weekend. This track takes a lot of mental and physical endurance and I know a lot of drivers, including myself, work really hard outside the race car to make sure that our bodies are prepared for the intense race at Bristol. I have run really well there in the past and I feel like there is a lot I can take away from that running multiple Truck Series races there and then the Xfinity race last year. We just have to continue to step up our game, myself as a driver and our equipment as a team and strive to keep running in the top-five and put us in position to win. This is one of my favorite short-tracks on the NASCAR schedule and GMS ran really well there last year with Spencer (Gallagher) in the spring and then Chase (Elliott) in the Fall. Hopefully we can execute this weekend and get GMS and Maury in Victory Lane.”

Texas Recap

John Hunter Nemechek, No. 23 ROMCO Equipment Co. Chevrolet Camaro

START: 8th
FINISH: 9th
POINTS: 10th

Notes & Quotes:—

-Nemechek collected his fourth top-10 in 2019 after his ninth-place finish today at Texas Motor Speedway.

-Nemechek is currently 10th in the driver point standings, 11 points behind Ryan Sieg in ninth place.

"We made improvements all race long but what didn't help us was track position. It's hard to gain spots back at Texas but I know the pit crew is working hard so hopefully we can continue to improve on that, the car and myself as a driver. We pitted one lap too early on our green flag stop, went one lap down after the caution came out after we pit so then we took the wave around. The cars that pit put tires on so at that point we just had to get what we could. We got a couple of spots there on the restart and we came home with another top-10. We have to keep the momentum rolling. I'm looking forward to Bristol next week. It's one of my best tracks as well as GMS' so I am really looking forward to that."

Best Finish: 4th (2018)

2019 Season Stats
5 starts, 1 top-five and 3 top-10's

Notes:
- Nemechek and the No. 23 team will utilize chassis no. 220. This chassis was raced once in the 2018 season by Chase Elliott at Bristol Motor Speedway (start: 15th/finish: 8th).

Quotes:
“The biggest take away from last years Texas race would be making sure to focus on your balance in Turns 1 and 2. The faster you can get back to the gas on that corner the better you will be since you have so much on throttle time. Turns 3 and 4 is a pretty easy corner compared to (Turns) 1 and 2. I feel like if your car can handle (Turns) 1 and 2 then you will be decent in the other corner. All in all you need to make sure that your car is able to cut and you can get back on throttle as soon as you can. ROMCO will be on board with me this weekend and I am really excited about representing their colors and brand at their hometown track. They have been a supporter of my Dad and I's career for a long time so getting them in Victory Lane this weekend would be really special to me."
