Roval Recap

START: 14th
FINISH: 7th
POINTS: 9th

Notes & Quotes:
- Nemechek started the race from the 14th-position and battled his way into the top-10 with 10 laps to go in Stage One. The GMS Racing team elected for Nemechek not to pit before Stage One ended and finished in the sixth-position, collecting five stage points. In Stage Two, Nemechek was involved in a multi-car incident on the start and had to pit for tires. The team gambled for Nemechek not to pit before the stage concluded but came up one spot short to end Stage Two in the 11th-position. For the final stage, Nemechek capitalized on the late race restarts and ended the race in seventh-position. This was Nemechek's first start at the ROVAL and the teams 14th top-10 this season.
- Nemechek heads into the final race of the Round of 12 in the ninth-position with a total of 2,062 points, 11 points behind Michael Annett who is in the eighth-position.
"The goal was to stay mistake free and let everyone else make them. Besides one hiccup in our day we were able to recover early and bring home a seventh-place finish. There was a lot of beating and banging out there and not a lot of real-estate on the track but it was a lot of fun. We were pretty good on our first run and then not so good on our second but got better for the final stage and we capitalized the late race restarts and had a solid finish and points day. I believe that we are in a decent points position going into Dover next weekend."

With what Marks taught me last year and the laps I've been logging on the simulator the past few weeks I feel confident going into this weekend. This is the second race in the Round of 12, so it's going to be crucial to gain as many stage points as we can and finish strong. We need to get into a better spot in the standings going into Dover next weekend."

"I'm excited about heading to Richmond this weekend for the first round of the NASCAR Playoffs. With Richmond being a short-track it's right up my alley. I'm all in and ready to lock this team into the Round of 8. I am honored to represent Safeway this weekend. Their presence is really big in the Virginia area and will have some guests attending the race. Hopefully we are able to make their experience a memorable one and park it in Victory Lane."

- Nemechek is currently scored in the 11th-position in the driver standings and is 28 points behind Brandon Jones who is in tenth-place.
"Bummer of a day for this team. We showed some speed in qualifying and in the race but then cut a left-rear tire going into Turn 1. We just can't catch a break but we will move on and get after it in Las Vegas next weekend. Thank you to Fire Alarm Services and all of our supporters for sticking with us. Onto better results!"

Darlington Recap

START: 16th
FINISH: 21st
POINTS: 10th

Notes & Quotes:
- Nemechek and the GMS Racing team bounced back after an early spin but then experienced fuel pick-up issues and had to pit under green flag conditions multiple times.
- Nemechek is currently scored in the tenth-position in the driver standings and is 53 points behind Justin Haley who is in ninth-place.
"It was a long day at Darlington. We spun early, rebounded back on the lead lap and got back into the mix. Then had a fuel pick-up problem on the same amount of laps in Stage One and Stage Two, which forced us to pit under green and go multiple laps down. We were able to get one lap back, but just needed a caution to get where we needed to be. Sadly you will have weekends like this but it's all about how you rebound. Onto Indianapolis next weekend.
