Not only did Nemechek make his first start at a 1.5-mile track, but he also hopped into the No. 8 NEMCO Motorsports Chevrolet with no practice time due to inclement weather prior to the race. Starting 13th due to the 31-truck field being set by owner's points per the NASCAR Rule Book, Nemechek quickly advanced into the top five, and even lead a lap (Lap 47) around the asphalt oval. He finished the 225-mile event in the 11th place.

John Hunter Nemechek and the No. 8 Fire Alarm Services, Inc., Chevrolet Silverado team for NEMCO Motorsports scored a sixth-place finish in the Drivin’ For Lineman 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at the Gateway Motorsports Park, Madison, Ill., on June 25 after cautions hindered the team’s pit strategy. Nemechek started the race from the fourth spot and quickly moved into the third position before the caution flag waved for the second time on Lap 26. After pitting for four tires, most of the field opted for two, thwarting the team’s strategy. Nemechek restarted in the 14th position and had to battle through the pack – and by Lap 130 Nemechek was in the second spot. In the closing laps a string of late-race restarts bunched up the field regulating Nemechek to the sixth position before taking the checkered flag.

Speedway Stats: In 18 combined NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts on speedways (tracks 1 to 2-miles in length), John Hunter Nemechek has recorded two victories (Chicago and Atlanta), eight top-five and ten top-10 finishes. He has led for a total of 89 laps on NASCAR’s speedway tracks.

In addition, the NEMCO Motorsports driver has one victory (Atlanta), two top-five and two top-10 finishes, has spent 708 laps running in the top 15 and made 325 green-flag passes thus far this season.

JOHN HUNTER NEMECHEK QUOTE (ON Texas Motor SPEEDWAY.):

“Texas Motor Speedway was a very fun racetrack the last time we were here (November 2015). I was able to run, pretty much, anywhere on the racetrack – a multi-groove racetrack creates exciting racing.

“Dad (Joe Nemechek) finished third a couple of years ago (2014) in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, so hopefully I can step that up and beat his best finish at the Texas Motor Speedway – and get NEMCO Motorsports a second win of the year.”

He qualified in the 18th position for the 150-lap event. John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 MeetBall Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, finished 23rd on June 19 in the American Ethanol 200 presented by Enogen NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at the Iowa Speedway. Nemechek, son of “Front Row Joe” Nemechek, started the 200-lap event on the front row in a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series career-best qualifying effort of second. The 18-year old maintained a top five running position during most of the event. Nemechek was working through lapped traffic in eighth-position on Lap 157, and unaware of another competitor to his outside, Nemechek moved up the track, causing contact between the two, resulting in the race’s final yellow flag. Suffering severe damage from the incident, the No. 8 NEMCO Motorsports team went to the garage unable to make repairs to the Chevrolet.

JOHN HUNTER NEMECHEK QUOTE (ON KENTUCKY SPEEDWAY.):
“Going to Kentucky Speedway is going to be a very eventful NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race. It will be my first 1.5-mile (intermediate) track start. I am really looking forward to getting on some of these bigger and faster tracks, and I anticipate having to learn what the aerodynamics does to our Chevrolet Silverado during passing, like when you are trying to pass from the inside. I have learned a little bit from earlier short-track races, but it is a different ball game at the 1.5-mile tracks. I am looking forward to going there and getting my first start at the Kentucky Speedway. Hopefully, we can seal the deal.”

GEAR TROUBLE SLOWS JOHN HUNTER NEMECHEK AT MARTINSVILLE SPEEDWAY

NEMECHEK FINISHES 29TH AT MARTINSVILLE

NEMCO Motorsports was within striking distance of a top finishing slot before a bout of bad luck struck at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway this weekend. A broken rear-end gear relegated John Hunter Nemechek and the No. 8 SWM International Inc. Chevrolet Silverado team to a 29th-place finish in the Kroger 250 at the Martinsville Speedway.
Nemechek started Saturday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race at the Martinsville Speedway from the 16th position based on the results of the qualifying session earlier that day. Over the opening laps of the extended 250-lap event, the 17-year old driver worked his way up to the 12th position by Lap 30. When the first caution flag waved on Lap 35, crew chief Gere Kennon called Nemechek in for two right-side Goodyear tires and Sunoco Racing fuel, and Nemechek restarted in the fourth position, looking to continue his forward progression. Under the Lap 55 caution, Kennon made the decision to stay out and not pit the Chevrolet Silverado. Once the field went green on Lap 69, the 32-truck field stayed caution-free for over 70 laps, the longest green-flag run in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series history at Martinsville Speedway.
Nemechek eventually fell back to the 10th position by Lap 120 reporting “snug” conditions, and the team put together a plan to improve the handling of the NEMCO Motorsports Chevrolet. Relief came on Lap 143 when the third caution flag was displayed, and under caution, Nemechek pitted for four fresh tires, two cans of fuel and a tear-off. He restarted seventh and drove his way up into the sixth position by Lap 150. As the event entered its final stages, Nemechek and Kennon felt the Chevrolet Silverado was in good form as they chose not to pit during a caution on Lap 164. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Rookie of the Year contender continued to work and made his way into the top five by Lap 173.
Nemechek was battling for the fourth position when, on Lap 174, something broke in the No. 8 Chevrolet Silverado. With no forward drive, he slowed to a standstill at the entrance of the garage in Turn 3 to bring out the sixth caution of the day. A review of the equipment by the team determined that the rear-end gear had broken, and the team did not have enough time to fix it and get back out onto the .526-mile track. Nemechek and the NEMCO Motorsports team finished in the 29th position.

Start - 16         Finish - 29        Laps Led - 0

JOHN HUNTER NEMECHEK QUOTE:
“This weekend at Martinsville Speedway, I feel like we unloaded strong. We made good adjustments in practice, and making the personnel change over the off-season has helped week-in and week-out with our Chevrolet Silverado. Also, our communications skills are getting stronger.

“That was my debut of the season, and we did not qualify as well as we wanted to, but we made a charge to the front. I cannot thank our NEMCO Motorsports guys enough for all of their help. I am looking forward to the next event – at Dover International Speedway.”

FINDIT.NET TO BE ASSOCIATE PARTNER FOR NEMCO MOTORSPORTS

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (February 20, 2015)—NEMCO Motorsports is proud to announce a one-year agreement with Findit.net as a full-season associate partner of the No. 8 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Joe Nemechek and John Hunter Nemechek in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS).

FindIT is a wireless coin-sized device that attaches to commonly misplaced items. Using the iPhone or Android FindIT application, a user can quickly locate lost or misplaced items in seconds when the application causes the device attached to the item to ring.

“FindIt.net is very excited to work with NEMCO Motorsports and the father-son duo of Joe Nemechek and John Hunter Nemechek,” Joey Cefalia, President and CEO of FindIt.net, said. “We believe in the strong partnerships NEMCO Motorsports can offer to help create business-to-business opportunities.”

Cefalia said that with the NEMCO Motorsports partnership, the company looks to increase consumer-facing sales within national retail locations as well as with business-to-business efforts.

“We are excited to announce this partnership between NEMCO Motorsports and FindIt.net,” Joe Nemechek said.

The Findit.net sponsorship agreement with NEMCO Motorsports runs for one year with an option to renew.

The partnership kicks off at the Daytona International Speedway on February 20 when the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series opens the season with the Nextera Energy Resources 250 100-lap event.

2014 NEMCO Motorsports Year in Review

2014 was by far one of the most anticipated years for everyone at NEMCO Motorsports as they began their first full season racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS). Announcing a partnership with Sid and Dawna Mauldin of Pampa, TX and with support from their SWM International organization, SWM-NEMCO Motorsports took form.

It was an exciting year for NEMCO drivers as well. Joe and John Hunter Nemechek reached a new summit in not only their relationship as father and son, but as racing teammates. For the first time in NASCAR history, a father and son duo shared the same ride and in their first year as a team, combined for a total of two top-five (one each) and 15 top-10 finishes en route to a seventh-place finish in owner standings.

In addition to their NASCAR program, NEMCO continued to develop their Pro and Super late model program as well starting the year off in fine fashion with a pro late model victory by John Hunter at the Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, GA in January.

Joe kicked off the NASCAR season in the No. 8 truck at Daytona International Speedway in February with an eighth-place effort, followed by John Hunter’s 11th-place performance at Martinsville Speedway in March.

Joe took the next two stints logging a ninth and 11th at Kansas Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway respectively and John Hunter turned in the first of many exciting performances picking up his career-best finish of sixth at Dover International Speedway. Joe one-upped him with his third-place run and first laps led of the season at Texas, just to be challenged by John Hunter’s head-turning performance at Gateway Motorsports Park where he led 53 of 160 laps. A late-race altercation relegated him to a 15th-place finish.

The middle portion of the season would bring a 14th at Kentucky Speedway, two consecutive 10th-place runs at Pocono Raceway and Michigan Speedway and a ninth-place performance at Chicagoland Speedway for Joe, while John Hunter collected a 10th, sixth, 25th and another sixth-place finish at Iowa Speedway, Eldora Speedway, Canadian Tire Motorsports Park and Bristol Motor Speedway, respectively.

The action heated up again in September as 17-year old John Hunter captured his first NCWTS career top-five at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. His final two races brought finishes of 13th and seventh at Martinsville Speedway and Phoenix International Raceway, while Joe rounded out the season with a 17th and 10th at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway, as well as eighth-place runs in each of his final two events at Texas Motor Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway.

John Hunter stayed busy with late model racing while free from NASCAR duties and picked up four additional Pro Late Model wins at Milwaukee Mile, Lucas Oil Raceway Park and Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville. His crowning achievement of the season came on December 7 when he claimed his biggest victory to date, winning the prestigious Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL. It was his first Super late model career win.

2014 also brought expansion to NEMCO by way of a new driver for the late model division. In October, it was announced that 19-year old Dominique Van Wieringen would join the team beginning with the Snowflake 100 during the Derby weekend in December where she raced to a 14th-place finish. Hailing from Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada, Dominique is currently pursuing her Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and is in her sophomore year. She will run select Pro and Super late model events under the NEMCO banner in 2015 as she continues both her studies and her progression in racing.

Early 2015 brought news of a complete transition to Chevrolet for NEMCO Motorsports as well as another twist to the dynamic of the father-son NCWTS effort. With John Hunter turning 18 in June, he will be cleared by NASCAR to compete on all tracks and will take over the remainder of the events in the No. 8 Silverado. This paves the way for a much anticipated on-track battle between the two as Joe plans to run select events in the second half of the season in his familiar No. 87. NEMCO Motorsports will field entries for Joe to compete in select Xfinity Series races in 2015 as well.

NEMCO MOTORSPORTS TO PARTNER WITH CHEVROLET STARTING IN 2015

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (January 9, 2015)—NEMCO Motorsports will reunite with Chevrolet as Joe Nemechek and John Hunter Nemechek join Team Chevy beginning with the 2015 NASCAR season. NEMCO Motorsports' teams will compete with Chevrolet Silverados in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS). In addition, the NEMCO Motorsports Late Model program will also feature the iconic manufacturer.

The move to Chevrolet represents a return for NEMCO Motorsports, as team owner Joe Nemechek raced with Chevrolet from 1991 to 2011. Through three of NASCAR’s top national touring series (Sprint Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and Camping World Truck Series) with Chevrolet, Nemechek and NEMCO Motorsports have earned 19 victories (18 in the Xfinity Series and one in the Camping World Truck Series) and 15 pole positions (14 in the Xfinity Series and one in the Camping World Truck Series).

Joe Nemechek is excited about the move to Chevrolet.

“We look forward to joining the Chevrolet NASCAR program this season," he said. “I've had a long-term relationship with Chevrolet for the majority of my career and I look forward to continuing that relationship.”

Nemechek won 18 races with the manufacturer since he first began fielding Chevrolets in the Xfinity Series in 1991, and winning the 1992 NASCAR Xfinity Series driver and owner championship en route to the manufacturers' championship for Chevrolet.

In 2015, John Hunter Nemechek returns to the No. 8 SWM-NEMCO Motorsports Chevrolet, sharing driving duties with his father until he turns 18-years old, when he plans to compete in the remainder of the truck series schedule beginning at Kentucky Speedway on July 9.

The No. 8 has 153 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts with Chevrolet, including 27 starts with his uncle, the late, John Nemechek, an aspiring driver in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

The NEMCO Motorsports’ switch to Chevrolet includes the conversion to ECR Engines to supply the team with horsepower for the 2015 season.

"This is a big step for our team and I look forward to working with Chevrolet and the guys at ECR Engines for a competitive season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series," John Hunter Nemechek said. “I have never worked with them (ECR Engines) before, but I look forward to building a relationship with them and running up front in 2015.”
